Blendspace and Gooru




Two tools that create online lessons by organizing resources and questions for students.
This tool organizes resources on a comic book frame and allows students to complete tasks in any order.
This tool organizes resources in a linear format and takes students through a series of tasks in order.

 

Blendspace

Sign Up

  1. Go to www.blendspace.com and login with your google account.

Add a Class

  1. Select the "Classes" tab
  2. Complete the information at the bottom.
    1. Grade
    2. Name of Class
    3. Add Class
  3. The new class will generate a Class Code and registration URL for students.

Create an Assignment

  1. On the "Lessons" Tab, select "New Lesson."
  2. This will create a new lesson from the basic template. Enter a lesson title. Then add resources, text, or multiple choice quizzes to each box.
    • The search bar finds resources online to drag into each square. 
       Hover the cursor over the icons to reveal the search engine's title.
       Type in key words to find your resource.

       Drag your resource into the desired box.


    • "Add Text" fills the box with your typed information.
    • "Add Quiz" generates a multiple choice quizzing template.
  3. After completing all the desired resources, select "Share" to add to a Blendspace class, to link to from another site, or embed on your own website.
     

View Results

  1.  Scores will only show if students are signed into a Blendspace class. From the "Lessons" Tab, select "More" to the right of the lesson. Then select "Track."
  2. Choose the class whose results you want to view.
  3. Students can like/dislike, comment, request help, and submit quiz response. Select the result you would like to view.
  4. View results. Choose "Table View" to see student results.

Sign Up

  1. Go to www.goorulearning.org and login with your google account.

Add a Class

  1. Select the"My Classes" tab, and choose "Create a New Class."
  2. Enter a class title and select "Done."
  3. The class dashboard will load. Select "Students" to view the class options and class code.

Create a Collection (Assignment)

  1. Select the"My Collections" tab, and choose "Create a New Collection."
  2. Enter a collection title, grade, and course. Then select "Done."
  3. The collection dashboard will load. In the "Content" tab, select "New Resource" or "New Question" to add content.

    To add a new resource, complete the form with the desired resource. You may use the toolbar on the left to switch between resource options.

       To add a new question,complete the form with the desired question. You may use the toolbar on the left to switch between question options.

    1. Select "Publish" when you have completed your collection.
    2. Once you have published, select the "Assign" tab to assign the collection to a class.

    View Results

    1. Select the"My Classes" tab to go to the class dashboard. Then select the class you would like to view.
    2. Select "View Collection Analytics" to score. 
    3.  Collection Progress summarizes the feedback for each resource and question.
       Collection Summary gives a more detailed breakdown of the class as a whole.
