Digital Citizenship Lesson Overview

For the next two hours we are going to go through a lesson on Digital Citizenship that utilizes several different Google tools. In a classroom setting, each method could be used independently or in conjunction with other assignments and activities based upon your instructional needs. The lesson itself can be replicated with your curriculum. Additionally, all teachers and students need to have a firm understanding of acceptable behaviors online, both on and off campus. This lesson provides you an outline of the main topics associated with Digital Citizenship.

This lesson has five major challenges:
  1. Make and share an individual assignment folder in Google Drive as if you are a student.
  2. Copy and mark-up a document on Digital Citizenship in Google Docs.
  3. Complete a general note sheet with references in Google Docs on a specific topic related to Digital Citizenship
  4. Create a Google Drawing poster illustrating the main ideas of your topic.
  5. Review the work of your peers and vote on your favorites.
Part 1: Lesson Prep - Submission Folders
This is logistical task you should do at the beginning of the school year or when you start regularly using your Chromebooks.

In Google Driv
  1. Create a Folder called Cohort-LastName-ChromebookPD (e.g. A-McDowell-ChromebookPD)
  2. Share it with Reuben Hoffman and Dan McDowell
