Research & Create

Part 3: Digital Citizenship Poster Project
This project should be done in teams of 2-3.

After researching your assigned topic, create a poster in Google Drawing that looks awesome and highlights the most important ideas that will make people think!

Process - Research
  1. Claim your topic on this Google Document.

  2. One person in the group should open this Google Document Research Guide. Make a copy of the document. Then he/she needs to share it with the other group members.
    Name it: BTSA-Research-LastNames (e.g. BTSA-Research-McDowell-Hoffman)

  3. Using the Research Tool (under "Tools"), collectively find at least three websites with information on your topic. Take notes on the document in the provided boxes.
Process - Create Your Google Drawing
  1. As a group, discuss the content you want to include in your poster.
    • Visuals with impact
    • 3-4 areas of focus that are important for people to consider
      • could be guidelines, facts, statements, etc.

  2. The SAME person who shared the Research Guide, should create a Google Drawing. Then share it with the other team members, and change the access to Anyone with link
    • Name it: BTSA-DigitalCitizenshipPoster-LastNames

  3. Find images to go with your poster.
    • Use the research tool to find images that are "free use, share, modify, even commercially"
    • More image "free use" options: Creative Commons Image Resources
    • Add links to the images you used to the Research Guide.

  4. Design the poster. If you want a quick overview of Google Drawing and how to use it, watch the Google Drawing Basics.

  5. When finished, one member of the team should download it as a JPG and put it on a blank side in this Google Presentation.
